The Benefits of Being a Grown Up

You know, there aren’t many benefits of being a grown up what with the bills and and the work and the doing your own laundry and dishes.  But, there are a few benefits to being a grown up and I have compiled a list of awesome grown up activities that have nothing to do with boom boom.

5. Popcorn and wine is a perfectly acceptable dinner, thankyouverymuch.

This is my go to meal when The Boy is out and about.  If I don’t have a reason to cook, break out the wine in a sippy cup and Orvill Redenbacher’s Natural Simply Salted Popcorn paired with Firefly on Netflix and my night is made.

4. Drama doesn’t exist.

Seriously, if you’re over the age of 22 and you still have drama, you’re not a grown up, you’re just a foolish fully-grown human, and there’s a difference.

3 a. You can stay up as late as you want.

If you’ve ever started watching the last season of Merlin one afternoon and become hooked and decided to stay up until 3 am to finish it even though you have to work in the morning, you know what I’m talking about.

3 b. You can go to bed as early as you want.

Those days when you just want to come home from work, eat your popcorn, and go to bed, you can without judgement.  As long as you don’t tell anyone that’s what you did.  Especially on a Friday.

2. Naps are awesome.

As an adult, you have an appreciation for the finer things in life.  Like naps.

1. No one tells you not to have ice cream for lunch.

Typically, when other adults see you’re having ice cream for lunch, they are jealous.  There is no judgement.

  1. You are NOT grown up! If you were then I would be an old man!
