Super Easy Hamburger Stroganoff

When I was growing up, this easy hamburger stroganoff was one of my absolute favorite meals.  It was always very easy to make for a quick dinner and is very tasty.

This easy hamburger stroganoff recipe is one of the first things I can remember my mom teaching me to cook, so I am sure a lot of my attraction to it was simply that it was a home-cooked meal from my childhood, but it still gets compliments no matter who I serve it to!

Though not healthy, it is still one of my great go-to dinners for something easy, cheap, and satisfying.   Though I eat smaller portions to make up for it! 😉

Ingredients:

1 lb. lean ground beef (80/20 will give you the best flavor)
1 medium onion, chopped
¼ cup chopped fresh mushrooms, or 1 small can of mushrooms
2-3 cloves of garlic, pressed, or 1 tsp of chopped garlic. (this is to taste, I use SO much more!)
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 cup of sour cream
Noodles of your choice, wide egg noodles are traditional.
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

How To Do It:

Saute the onions in a pan until translucent.

Add the beef and the mushrooms and brown the beef.  Season with Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.  Once cooked drain all the grease and put the beef back in the pan.

Mix in the cream of mushroom soup.

Then stir in the sour cream and serve over wide egg noodles.  I used angel hair because it’s my favorite and it’s what I had on hand.

OMG. One of my favs.

That’s it. The end.  So easy, right?

Super Easy Hamburger Stroganoff
Ingredients:
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
¼ cup chopped fresh mushrooms, or 1 small can of mushrooms
2-3 cloves of garlic, pressed, or 1 tsp of chopped garlic.
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 cup of sour cream
Noodles of your choice, wide egg noodles are traditional.
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
How to do it!:
Chop the onion into bite size pieces.  Add to a very hot pan and cook until translucent.  If your pan is not non-stick, you may want to use just a touch of olive oil to prevent sticking.
Once translucent, add the ground beef to the pan, season with Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.  Brown the beef and then strain all the grease out before putting it back in the pan.
Stir in the cream of mushroom soup and garlic over medium low heat.
Remove pan from heat and add the sour cream stir until mixed.  Serve over wide egg noodles.
